Types of data processed

Usage data (for example pages visited, access times) and meta or communication data (for example device information, IP addresses). This website provides no contact form, user accounts or comment function, so no inventory or content data is collected here. If you contact me by email, the data you send is processed only to handle your request.

Categories of data subjects

Visitors and users of this website.

Purpose of processing

Provision of the website, its functions and content; security; and reach measurement in anonymised form.

Legal bases

In accordance with Art. 13 GDPR we inform you of the legal bases of our data processing. Unless stated otherwise below, the legal basis for processing to provide and secure this website and to measure reach in anonymised form is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legal basis for processing an email enquiry is Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR.

Security measures

In accordance with Art. 32 GDPR, and taking into account the state of the art and the nature, scope and purposes of processing, we take appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of protection appropriate to the risk. The website is served exclusively over an encrypted HTTPS connection.

Hosting and access log files

When you visit this website, the hosting infrastructure automatically collects and stores data about each access in server log files on the basis of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. This includes the name of the page accessed, the file, the date and time of access, the amount of data transferred, a message about successful access, the browser type and version, the operating system, the referrer URL and the IP address of the requesting provider. Log file information is stored for a limited period for security reasons (for example to investigate misuse) and then deleted. Data whose further storage is required as evidence is retained until the respective incident has been resolved.

Reach measurement with Matomo

This website uses Matomo, an open source, self-hosted web analytics tool, operated on infrastructure provided by Colorful Bytes. On the basis of our legitimate interests in analysing and improving this website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), Matomo processes information such as the browser type and version, the operating system, the date and time of the request, the pages visited and the referring link.

Matomo on this site is configured to be privacy friendly: it sets no cookies, it respects the "Do Not Track" setting of your browser, and IP addresses are processed in anonymised form. The collected data is stored only on the Matomo server and is not passed on to third parties. You can additionally object to the analysis at any time using the Matomo opt-out page.

No third-party content

This website deliberately loads no external fonts, content delivery networks or other third-party resources, so no data is transmitted to such providers when you browse it. The only outbound request is to the self-hosted Matomo instance described above. Your light or dark theme preference is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and never leaves your device.

Rights of the data subjects

You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether data concerning you is being processed and to receive information about this data in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR. You have the right to request the completion or correction of data concerning you (Art. 16 GDPR), the erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR) or the restriction of its processing (Art. 18 GDPR), and to receive data you have provided and request its transfer to other controllers (Art. 20 GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in accordance with Art. 77 GDPR.

Right of withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw any consent granted, with effect for the future, in accordance with Art. 7 (3) GDPR.

Right to object

You can object to the future processing of data concerning you at any time in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR.

Deletion of data

The data we process is deleted or its processing restricted in accordance with Art. 17 and 18 GDPR. Unless stated otherwise in this policy, data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for its intended purpose and no statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.
