I am a Member of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) and an active contributor across several of its projects. The ASF is a volunteer, community-driven organisation stewarding more than 300 open source projects under a vendor-neutral governance model. As a Foundation Member I take part in the governance of the ASF itself, including the annual election of its Board of Directors.

I currently serve as PMC Chair (Vice President) of both Apache Storm and Apache StormCrawler, reporting on those projects to the ASF Board.

Below are the Apache projects I am involved with, with their canonical homepages. Roles are abbreviated as on the Apache project team pages (for example OpenNLP): C indicates a committer (write access to a project), C-P a PMC member (Project Management Committee, who additionally shares responsibility for the project's governance and releases), and Chair the current PMC chair.

• Apache StormCrawler C-P Chair

  An open source collection of resources for building low-latency, scalable web crawlers on top of Apache Storm, closely aligned with my research on distributed, focused web crawling.

• Apache Storm C-P Chair

  A distributed, real-time computation system for reliably processing unbounded streams of data.

• Apache OpenNLP C-P

  A machine-learning based toolkit for the processing of natural language text, supporting common NLP tasks such as tokenisation, sentence segmentation, named entity recognition and more.

• Apache TomEE C-P

  The Jakarta EE / Java EE Web Profile assembled on top of Apache Tomcat.

• Apache Geronimo C

  An open source server runtime providing reusable Java / Jakarta EE components.

• Apache Magpie C-P

  Software for agent-assisted repository maintainership and development, including automated handling of issues and pull requests.

• Apache Incubator C-P

  The entry path into the ASF for projects and codebases wishing to become part of the Foundation's efforts; I help mentor and guide incoming podlings.
